# og:locale

Sets the locale of the Open Graph metadata in language\_TERRITORY form. The default is en\_US.

Open Graph uses an underscore here, so write en\_GB.

```

An empty value is not a locale. Omit the property to use the en\_US default.

## Recommendations

- 01 Use Correct Locale Format Use a language code, an underscore, then a territory code, such as en\_GB.
- 02 List Available Alternates Add one og:locale:alternate property for each other locale in which the page is available.
